Background
I spent ten years in national IT at one of the world's most operationally disciplined retailers during its largest U.S. expansion, when the company grew from about 1,300 stores to more than 2,400. I was cutover lead for the first seven divisions of a national technology transformation, and I ran the technology launch for more than 1,200 new, remodeled, and replacement stores and training centers. I founded Dont Shut Down, a fee-only exit planning practice for owner-operated businesses. Separately, I buy septic, grease trap, waste hauling, and excavation businesses. Dont Shut Down never advises businesses in those industries and never buys a business it advises.
